Pastor – Old Saratoga Reformed Church – Schuylerville, NY
Job Details Old Saratoga Reformed Church (OSRC) is an old church in a small old village. We have a history here. Some people refer to us as a place to get help. Others tell us we are known as a friendly, welcoming congregation. We are a small congregation, but we believe that our ministry continues to be important and we strive to follow in Jesus’ footsteps as we minister to those near and far. We want to share God’s love with others through our worship services, our involvement in making our community a better place, and in sharing our gifts locally and globally. We are looking for a minister who wants to become part of our church family and community, not someone who just sees a small church as one stepping stone on a career path. We are looking for a Pastor, not just a minister. One of the members of the local Ecumenical Clergy Group recently wrote about the difference between the two stating that, “To call someone pastor means you trust them with your spiritual growth and well-being. You call them that because you know they will care about you and help you become what God called you to be.” Our congregation has many strengths, but we also have areas where we need to improve. For example, we need guidance to help us set goals beyond just surviving as a congregation and to find purpose in mission beyond financial giving. For if our only goal is to survive, then that is the best we can hope for, but if our goal is to help others, then through God, anything is possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you think God is leading you to learn more about ministry at OSRC, we look forward to hearing from you.
