DESCRIPTION:“As iron sharpens iron\, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17 NIV) \n2024 Theme: Framing Difficult Conversations in a Time of Fear\nThe event is free\, but registration is required:\nTo register to attend\, click here.\nEvent Purpose:\nTo strengthen alumni ties through a showcase of notable NBTS clergy experiences. Speakers and panelists will talk about key topics in their field of ministry from a personal perspective\, opening the door for networking\, mentorship\, and collaboration through sharing of mutual experiences. This form of exposition also aims to raise the profile of NBTS by demonstrating the effective work of its alumni/ae in real-life ministry settings. \nIntended Audience: \n\nNBTS Alumni\nNBTS Current Students\nLocal Clergy\n\nTopics include: \n\nHandling Difficult Conversations as a Clergy Leader\nRace & Gender Nuances in Difficult Conversations\nEngaging in Interfaith Conversations\nPractical Approaches to Uncomfortable Conversations\n\nStructure: \nOpening chapel session followed by 4 workshop presentations throughout the day. Each session consists of 45 mins of presentation time with 15 mins of Q&A.  Additional time for in-person and online networking should be available after / between sessions.  Each session will have 1-3 speakers\, plus a moderator to guide the conversation. \nSchedule for the day (The zoom portion starts at 10:00 am): \n9:00 am – 9:30 am – Registration\n9:30 am-9:50 am – Opening Worship\n10 am-11 am – Race & Gender with President Micah McCreary & Dr. Beth L. Tanner  \n11:10 am-12:10 pm – The Need for Courageous Clergy Conversations with Rev.
