As we step into the season of Advent, our thoughts turn to the Good News that was sent into a feeding bin in Bethlehem, the “House of Bread;” the gift of God invading our world to give us a new set of possibilities. And we remember the angels, messengers sent from God to inform key players whom we would never expect of their role in making that Good News incarnate.

In what has become an annual custom, students and alumni of New Brunswick Theological Seminary share reflections, meditations, and prayers in the 2024 Advent Devotional: Messages of Good News. As the Seminary enters its twenty-fifth decade of equipping people to be God’s messengers in churches, schools, jails, hospitals, and countless other places, we hope these messages help us all make the gospel come alive in our own time and place.
