D.Min. Concentration in Transformational Preaching
As a communicator of God’s word, staying true to the biblical text while remaining relevant to contemporary culture is critical. Through the D.Min. concentration in Transformational Preaching, Doctoral candidates will become intensely familiar with their own pulpit hermeneutic, cross-cultural homiletical traditions, and methods. Ultimately, students will research and develop a hermeneutic of preaching that transforms the lives within and beyond their ministry.
Graduates of the transformational preaching concentration will:
- Critically reflect upon the individually and socially transformative dimensions of Christian preaching.
- Deploy critical interpretive lenses and practices for the transformative interpretation of a biblical text in a particular cultural and congregational context.
- Engage a diverse spectrum of sources and scholars in the field of homiletics.
- Employ their ministry context as a unique homiletical learning environment
