Campus Ministry Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
Reports directly to the Chaplain. Responsible in the development, coordination, and maintenance of the campus ministry programs of the college. Actively plan and participate in the ministry team, which in turn supports students and the mission of the College.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Enabler
o Assist in supervising ministry teams.
o Provide ministry teams with opportunities to collaborate and share God’s word in both on and off-campus settings.
o Plan and facilitate retreats and community building functions for students.
o Serve as an information point of contact for students regarding opportunities
· Collaborator
o Work to partner with other student organizations.
o Support, plan, implement and evaluate mission trip experiences.
o Utilize collaborations across campus to provide significant ministry experiences for students.
o Network students with other campus wide programs and opportunities.
· Leader
o Provide leadership and direction in empowering students in the preparation of worship, including messages, music, set-up, and evaluation.
o Determine viability of ministry team proposals and goals for development in a comprehensive ministry plan.
o Assist in leading mission and outreach events.
o Foster campus ministry team unity.
· Mentor
o Provide guidance to students on their faith journey.
o Assess needs of students in crisis and assist or refer.
o Provide spiritual care to students in need.
o Engage regularly in one-on-one student interaction.
· Communicator/Recorder
o Schedule and supervise student workers.
o Prepare correspondence, programs/bulletins, brochures, and memos related to the work of campus ministries, including emails, personal interaction, mailings, and phone.
o Inventory, order, and purchase supplies for department.
o Develop and maintain campus ministries calendar and event documentation.
o Maintain campus ministries files and budget records.
o Act as campus ministry contact with outside constituents for logistical and programmatic needs.
· Shift hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and college closure periods

Bachelor’s degree required with over one year and up to two years in a general ministry setting with experience in small group ministries, worship team coordination/planning, and mission trip involvement, etc.
· Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and solid interpersonal skills are important. Ability to speak in front of groups as well as work effectively in small group settings and group facilitation skills.
· A solid background in Christian music, both traditional and contemporary, and computer skills including PowerPoint presentation and experience in sound system operations are preferred.
· Ability to travel (ground and air).
· Available to work some evenings and weekends.
· Ability to work effectively across difference.
· Conversant in Spanish preferred.
· Service trip involvement may require working in conditions where there are negative factors such as
cold, heat, noise, dirt, etc. and moderate to heavy physical effort (i.e., lifting, loading, standing, etc.).
