Central Plains Classis of the Reformed Church in America is a fellowship of ministries in Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past five years with a number of new ministries. We are wanting to continue that growth. We are now searching for a high-capacity church planter or church planting couple who would begin a new work in one of the urban areas of our four states. The exact location is negotiable based on the desire of the planter.
We are wanting to plant a multi-cultural, multi-racial ministry in an urban setting. The ideal candidate(s) will exhibit and possess the following qualities:
- passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrates emotional maturity
- theologically trained and missionally minded
- Ability to effectively communicate combined with winsome social skills
- highly entrepreneurial with strong work ethic
- openness to and desire for building a diverse community that embraces various cultures and races
- ability to build a team of leaders and disciples
- openness to a bi-vocational ministry in which the planter has various streams of income
- committed to the Reformed Church in America
- is either an RCA ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament or Commissioned Pastor or is open to the process of credentialing within the RCA
- has an evangelistic heart desiring to make disciples who make disciples of Jesus Christ
The job description will be built around these priorities:
-build a strong community of new believers and leaders
-build a community that makes a kingdom or missional difference in their surrounding community
-builds a style of ministry that expresses the vision of the planter – whether that is a simple church, a series of house churches, Fresh Expressions church or a traditional church
-builds a ministry that seeks to reproduce itself with other creative ministries

Church planting and reaching the unchurched must be a desire of the planter’s heart. There is an expectation for the planter or planting couple to be assessed with various assessment tools such as but not limited to the Initial Screening Assessment (ISA), Ridley, DISC, Myers-Briggs, Strength Finders, Enneagram, Multiply or the CPCA.
