Being Reformed While Becoming Even More: a Conference Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Reformed Church Center
New Brunswick Theological Seminary is rooted in the Reformed tradition, and has been since 1784. How does the Reformed tradition shares promises and perils with NBTS as we move into the future? How do the Seminary’s Reformed roots both help and hinder its ecumenical mission? We will seek to answer these questions as we look back on 15 years of the Reformed Church Center fostering scholarship and discussion and look ahead to its future, led by a distinguished panel of scholars and pastors from inside and outside the RCA and the seminary community. John Coakley and Jinhong Kim will look at where we have been, how NBTS has grappled with these questions in the past. Gregg Mast and Earl James (RCA Coordinator for Congregational Mission Mosaic and Advocacy) will look at our possibilities for the future. We will be led in responding to this by Renée House, Benjamin Rivera, Arberta Jones, and Barbara Felker. Celebratory worship will being the day, which will end with a birthday lunch.
