NEW BRUNSWICK THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT CATHY PROCTOR TO JOIN PILLAR COLLEGE AS ITS NEW DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT
NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey – New Brunswick Theological Seminary (NBTS) today announced that Cathy Proctor, the Seminary’s Director of Development, has accepted the position of Director of Advancement at Pillar College in Newark, New Jersey. Ms. Proctor, whose last day at NBTS will be September 28, 2016, has been in her current position at the Seminary for seven years.
During her tenure at NBTS, Ms. Proctor bolstered the development, marketing, and public relations efforts of the Seminary. She launched the largest fundraising campaign in the history of the institution – the Building A New Future Comprehensive Campaign – which is scheduled to be completed in June 2017. Ms. Proctor was instrumental in securing the campaign’s largest gift of $1.6 million, and to date the campaign has received gifts and pledges of nearly $7.5 million towards its $8 million goal.
“Cathy’s faithful and inspired administration of our development strategy is a major reason we have come so far so fast. Her steadfast leadership, ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ work ethic and contagious energy have greatly contributed to us meeting, and oftentimes exceeding, our development goals,” said Dr. Gregg A. Mast, President of New Brunswick Theological Seminary. “We are deeply grateful that she has been part of our NBTS family these past seven years, and we wish her well in her new assignment at Pillar College.”
As Director of Advancement for Pillar College, Ms. Proctor will report to the President and be responsible for building its development program, fundraising, donor and alumni relations, planned giving, grant solicitation, and advancement events and services.
“I am extremely excited to join Pillar College at this point in its dynamic growth; I’m both humbled and energized by the opportunity to work alongside such a great team to further Pillar’s mission of preparing students to be transformational leaders,” expressed Ms. Proctor. “I’m so thankful for the experiences, opportunities and life-long friendships I’ve gained through working at NBTS. It truly is a community of learning, love and hope that will remain with me throughout the years.”
In April, NBTS announced that Dr. Mast will retire in June 2017. As part of the overall transition plan, the Seminary will begin the process of identifying a new Director of Development after the new Seminary President has been appointed in June. Until that time, the Development Department will report to Dr. Mast.
