Isn’t it ironic that we, who talk the most about the need for community, experience isolation? No matter what our relationship status may be, ministry is lonely, demanding, depleting and down right depressing. So, let’s practice what we preach and form genuine community by sharing what’s on our minds in a safe place among peers!
“This past summer I was struck by the loss of yet another young pastor when The Reverend Andrew Stoecklein, Lead Pastor of Inland Hills Church in California, lost his battle with depression/anxiety and took his own life. Clergy are in crisis and we need to begin a serious discussion about the Matters of the Mind. Depression and anxiety is a very serious illness, and our co-laborers need to know that they do not have to suffer alone. Clergy in Crisis: Matters of the Mind is tailored for all who serve on the front lines of ministry and are willing to unashamedly address the elephant in the room that is silencing the voice and witness of so many overwhelmed shepherds in this hour.” – Bishop Donald Hilliard
“No one can fill those of your needs that you won’t let show.” – Bill Withers
